Impact of coronavirus pandemic-panic and fear

We are currently in the second month of the Metal Rat Year 2020. Metal Rat Year is indeed a very challenging year. We have seen the coronavirus or Covid-19 outbreak a couple of months ago which continues to put the whole world in panic and fear. The outbreak of the dreaded sickness has wiped off a few trillion dollars from the global financial stock markets. There is still no end in sight to the panic and fear as the coronavirus sickness or covid-19 continues to spread rapidly to other parts of the world. With the lock-down, quarantine and restricted movement imposed by many countries, this has affected their economies, businesses and financial markets.  Many countries are coming up with many financial packages to stimulate the economy.

Metal Rat Year in 2020, is Metal on top of the water meaning water is exhausting the strength of Metal.  Metal needs the earth to support it which in turn needs fire to produce it.  However. there are no earth and fire elements in the Year Pillar. Based on Bazi classics, Metal needs fire to forge or melt it into ” useful tools”.  So metal without fire is cold, unhealthy and unusable metal. Therefore, the Metal water combination and the missing of earth and fire element in 2020 already gives the message that Metal is unhealthy in 2020 – in terms of Chinese medicine, it translates to the sickness of lung and breathing organ. The coronavirus or Covid-19 outbreak that happened clearly supports this theory.

The Rat is the most powerful water element out of the 12 animals.  In Chinese metaphysics, the 5 elements can also be classified into 5 emotions of people.  Metal represents sadness, wood is temper, fire is happiness, water is fear,  and earth is meditation. So this year the Rat which contained strong water caused a lot of fear and panic which is exactly what is happening now as everyone is afraid of being infected by the virus.  Everyone is scared to travel, to go out,  and wearing protective masks. There is also a big rush to buy food, rice, toilet paper, and medical supplies.

 The virus seems to associate with water.  This is supported by the fact that the outbreak started in the winter month in December 2019 in Wuhan, Hubei in China and at the cruise ship Diamond Princess which was detained in Yokohama and over 700 passengers out of 3400 were found infested with the virus.  The coronavirus is more widespread in cold weather and will die under higher temperatures.  It is apparent that the powerful water element of the Rat is giving problems to a lot of people, in particular, those who need fire element and does not like water element.

It is important for us to know when will the new coronavirus cases in the world level off and decline as this is closely related to the global economy and financial stock markets. If we can forecast the timing we can use the information to plan our timing of investments.

Let us examine the Bazi chart of Li Wenliang who was a physician at  Wuhan Central Hospital, he warned his colleagues in December 2019 about a possible outbreak of an illness that later is acknowledged as COVID-19. He became a whistleblower when his warnings were later shared publicly. On 3 January 2020, Wuhan police summoned and admonished him for “making false comments on the Internet”.  He returned to work, later contracted the virus from an infected patient and died from the disease on 7 February 2020, at age 33. He was born on 12-October-1986.

Li Wenliang was born in the autumn season when metal is prosperous.  His day master of Yin Earth is considered weak as the strong metal element in the autumn season will weaken earth. Weak day master of Yin Earth needs the support of Fire as it produces earth. He was in his luck pillar of Yin Metal Ox from the Chinese age of 29 to 38 years, his Yin Metal in his luck pillar combined away the Yang Fire which is his important support in his Year Pillar. The Metal Rat in 2020 which contained a powerful water element finally extinguished his important life-supporting fire, hence he passed away on 7-Feb-2020.

This example clearly shows coronavirus sickness could be caused by the weakness of the fire element which is the main problem in this Metal Rat year.  To improve fire elements in our body, the main nutritional supplement is COQ10 and other fire foods are ginger, garlic, onion, and spices.  Also if this theory is correct, then we may expect the situation will improve when fire seasons return in summer.  The fire months are May and June which is the Snake and Horse month.  It is hopeful when such fire elements come back in the month, fewer people will get infected with coronavirus sickness.

Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth II’s son and the heir to the British throne has tested positive for coronavirus on 25.3.2020 and is now self-isolating in Scotland.

Let us look at the Bazi Chart of Prince Charles –

Prince Charles is born in the winter season when water is prosperous. His day master of Yin Water is considered strong. To release his excessive water energy, he needs wood and earth to keep the water under control. Fire generates earth. Fire is an important element that will also help to regulate the cold temperature in the winter season. So the elements of wood, fire, and earth are favorable to him. He needed the support of fire but there was no fire in his chart. There is also a sickness star in the Pig. He was tested positive for coronavirus. This example clearly shows coronavirus sickness could be caused by the weakness or absence of the fire element which is the main problem in this metal Rat year.  He is now in his luck pillar of Yang Metal Horse from the Chinese age of 68 to 79 years. There is a hidden Fire element of Yin or Ding Fire which is one of his favorable elements. He is only displaying mild symptoms and is otherwise in good health.

Let us also examine the Bazi Chart of another person closely associated with this global disease. He is Mr. Tedros Adhanom – The secretary of WHO – World Health Organization.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is an Ethiopian politician and academic who has been Director-General of the World Health Organization since 2017. He was born on 3rd March 1965.

He is born in the spring season when the wood element is prosperous. His day master of Yang Fire is considered strong as he has plenty of support of wood and fire in his chart.  Earth, metal, and water are his favorable elements. Wood and Fire are his unfavorable elements. He is in his current luck pillar of Yin Water Rooster from the Chinese age of 49 to 56 years. He is in his favorable luck pillar now as water and metal, his favorable elements are strong in his luck pillar.

The months of February and March which are strong wood months are the unfavorable elements for him. In view of this, he has many problems and challenges posed by the pandemic outbreak. However, April will bring his favorable elements of earth and water, and he will be back in good luck.  This seems matching with the above theory that the virus will be less harmful when we approach the summer months of May and June.

We can also explain the coronavirus with flying stars feng shui, which is also quite accurate in reflecting this disaster which broke out in Wuhan, Hubei in China.

The current year 2020 has star 7 in the center, So the bad year star 5 is present in the East,  So the outbreak in Wuhan is actually the East side of China.  The more serious spots of the outbreak are Yokohama of Japan and Daegu of South Korea, both are in the East of Japan and East of Korea, it so happened that Yokohama and Daegu are both on 35-degree latitude, the two cities almost on the same straight line to the East of China.

Flying star 5 is a calamity or misfortune star which is likely the cause of the current pandemic outbreak. Coronavirus or Covid-19 will peak in the period from March 6 to April 4 because there is double 5 in the East sector (month & year star is 5). I foresee that after April 5, Covid-19 cases will gradually level off and decline especially in China, Japan, South Korea and between one to two months later for the rest of the world when star 5 leaves the east sector.
