Period 9 and Wood Dragon Year 2024

 

Can you believe we are already into the final month of 2023? Another couple of months, we are going to welcome Period 9 and the Year of the Wood Dragon 2024.

The Year of the Wood Dragon, 2024 is represented  by Yang Wood sitting on top of Dragon which is Earth element.  It is a Wood on Heavenly Stem on top of Earth in Earthly branch.  According to the cycle of birth and destruction, the two elements are in the destructive cycle and have conquering relationship, the Wood Dragon year 2024 will likely to see more conflicts and less harmony. The Dragon contains Earth, Water, and Wood but no fire element. As such the year 2024 has no Fire element which is the driving force behind economic activities. Fire is symbol of happiness and positive energy in the 5-element system, fire element is necessary to stimulate optimism and confidence. When fire is totally absent, there will be less incentive and less drive for investment activities. These may lead to pessimism in the economy that may trigger economic recessions and set backs in the financial markets.

An ongoing armed conflict between Israel and Hamas-led Palestinian militant groups in the Gaza Strip started in October 2023 which is the Dog month, as Dog clashes with Dragon, the energy of the Dragon is already slowly creeping in.

Currently, we are currently in the Fengshui Period 8 (from Feb 4, 2004 to Feb 3, 2024) and will be transiting to a new period called Period 9 from Feb 4, 2024 – Feb 3, 2043. The new energy from period 9 is now slowly coming in and will fully come into force after February 4, 2024 which coincides with the Year of the Wood Dragon 2024.

Period 9 is represented by the Li Gua hexagram. Li Gua represents Fire and is in the south sector/direction. Li Gua also represents red phoenix, light, brightness, red, purple color, middle daughter, middle-aged women, eye, heart, technology, automation power, artificial intelligence, virtual world, beauty, and spirituality.

The Period 9 energy will see the rise of middle-aged women- more women in leadership positions, benefit certain industries- technology, automation -self-driving vehicles, drones, artificial intelligence, e-gaming & sports, virtual world, crypto-currency, coaching, stem cells, virtual tours, social media consulting, beauty and cosmetic care products and anti-aging products, spirituality-meditation, healing, wisdom guru, and retirement homes business. The use of AI, electric cars, investments in cryptocurrency and digital assets are getting more popular and trending now.

Dragon will be the Grand Duke or the leader of the 12 animal signs in 2024. Rabbit, the current year Grand Duke will hand over its crown to the Dragon on February 4 2024.
