Carrie Lam and the protesters

Carrie Lam

Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, (born 13 May 1957) is a Hong Kong politician serving as the 4th Chief Executive of Hong Kong since 2017.

In 2019, Lam’s government pushed for the controversial amendment to the extradition law. The widespread opposition to the bill and Lam’s hardline approach on the issue sparked strong opposition by nearly two million protesters on 16 June who called for the withdrawal of the bill and her resignation. Protests continued for many months which led to the indefinite suspension and ultimate withdrawal of the bill.

Let us look at her destiny chart below-

Her Day master is Yin Wood. Yin Wood is like a creeping plant and flowering bushes will always find a way to reach the sunlight and stay alive. She is a survivor and has a never say die attitude, and always will find a way to win despite the odds. Many politicians are Yin Wood day masters. In Malaysia, the current Prime Minister (PM), Dr. Mahathir and the former PM, Najib Razak are Yin Wood day masters.

She was born in the summer season when the fire element was prosperous. Her day master of Yin Wood is considered weak as fire exhausts wood. Her favorable elements are wood and water. Fire, Earth, and Metal are her unfavorable elements. Fire is clearly not her favorable element as on 16 June, which is a fire month, nearly two million protesters, as claimed by the organizers, flooded the streets demanding a full withdrawal of the bill

She is now in her current Luck Pillar (LP) of Metal Pig from the Chinese age of 58 to 67 years which is not a favorable LP as metal, her unfavorable element is predominantly strong. She is currently going through LP of 7k which is a stressful, challenging and problematic period for her. She will encounter haters and petty people during this LP.

To make matters worse, there is also Self-Punishment(SP) of Rooster in her natal chart. SP indicates doing things or making the decision that sabotages herself, in this case, pushing for the extradition law despite initial objections. There are also many negative stars in the Rooster (especially Calamity Sha) as this year is a disaster year for her and Snake (especially Obstacle star) as her extradition bill was opposed by 2 million protesters) as shown in her Bazi chart below. The Pig in her current LP of Yin Metal Pig and Annual Year Pillar of 2019 also clashes with Snake in her Month Pillar in her natal chart. As the month pillar represents her political career, the clash will bring about changes in the manner she manages people of Hong Kong and handles the challenges posed by the protesters. The clash will likely be at its height in early November to early December as this is the month of the Pig. It is likely that there will be a fresh round of protests during that period. The city is bracing itself for a fresh round of protests in coming days, with this coming Saturday marking five years since the pro-democracy umbrella movement kicked off and Tuesday being the 70th anniversary of communist China’s founding.

Luck Pillar of Carrie Lam

Annual Year Pillar of 2019

What is in store for her in 2020? It is a year of Yang Metal Rat. Metal is predominantly strong in 2020. Rat in 2020 will form a “Destroy relationship” with the 2 Roosters in her chart.

I forecast that she will continue to lose her trust to the people of Hong Kong and her authority will be challenged again in the first half of 2020. Her popularity ratings will continue to drop. There will be no solution in sight for the first half of 2020. Water which is her favorable element will be more dominant in the second half of 2020, perhaps a solution will be found with the help of her noble people.

As at the time of writing, Carrie Lam was in listening mode for her first community dialogue session on Thursday. She is hoping to receive constructive suggestions to help her government meet the public’s expectations for a more inclusive and fairer Hong Kong.
