Elvis was born in the cold winter season when water is prosperous. His day master is Yang Wood. We can picture Yang or Jia Wood as a tall towering tree.  His day master was surrounded by fire on the left and right which represented the sunlight that would provide warmth to his day master. Yang Wood or a tree in winter needs warmth or sunlight to grow in winter besides water. Fire (EG & HO) represented his talents and creativity. Such a configuration of favorable fire was suitable for him as he was in the singing and entertainment business as it represented his talent and showmanship. His day master of Yang Wood was strongly rooted in Yang Wood in Tiger in his hour pillar would strengthen his character and gave him a firm grounding for his personal growth. Wood (F/RW) also represented his raving fans. His most favorable elements were fire and wood.

Elvis’s first breakthrough came in 1954, a year of wood and fire, his favorable elements when he recorded his first hit “That’s All Right Mama” when he was in his luck pillar of Direct Wealth (DW) or Yin Earth Rabbit from age of 19 to 28 years. His music career began in 1954, recording at Sun Records with producer Sam Philips, who wanted to bring the sound of African-American music to a wider audience.

Two years later his first RCA Victor single, “Heartbreak Hotel”, was released in January 1956 and became a number-one hit in the United States. Within a year, RCA would sell ten million Presley singles. With a series of successful network television appearances and chart-topping records, Presley became the leading figure of the newly popular sound of rock and roll. In November 1956, Presley made his film debut in  “Love Me Tender”. 1956 was a strong fire year.

During his luck pillar of DW especially 1955, 1956, 1957 were years of wood and fire that brought him immense fame and wealth with records selling in their millions. He began to create a national sensation with a series of hits: “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” “Love Me Tender” (all 1956), “All Shook Up” (1957), and more.

The peak of his career came during the luck pillar of 7k or Yang Metal Dragon from the age of 29 to 38. He had a Heavenly Virtue Noble (HVN) star in his luck pillar. The presence of an HVN star indicates forthcoming help or support from noble people and the lucky owner is easier to gain favors from heaven. The best is when it appears in the luck pillar as it will last for 10 years. This star explained why he was so popular with his raving fans and had huge success in his singing and entertainment career.

Yang Metal is akin to an axe that can chop Yang Wood or a big tree. It was a period of axe chopping Yang wood in his natal chart into smaller pieces of wood to generate more fire which was the most favorable element for Elvis. Yang Metal was in a way also considered his favorable element. Metal (DO & 7k) represented his influence and fame.

Dragon in his luck pillar also clashed with Dog in his year pillar to release IW, HO & DO in the Dog pillar and IW, RW & DR in the Dragon pillar.  As the year pillar refers to the public and external, the clash released more IW that increased his fortune and he became more popular and famous (through his DO & 7k) and his fans increased (RW) through his concerts and movies. It brought him further success, fame, and fortune during this luck pillar. He also got married to Priscilla and became a father during this luck pillar.

However, his luck changed after the age of 39 when he entered into the luck pillar of Yin Metal Snake from the age of 39 to 48. Yin metal is akin to a penknife. Yin metal was unable or too weak to cut Yang Wood or a big tree into smaller pieces of wood in his natal chart to generate fire, however, instead generated water to weaken and slowly extinguish the fire in his natal chart. As a Yang Wood day master, fire represented his talent and showmanship but the fire was diminishing as it had been weakened by the water generated by Yin metal. This eventually caused a decline in his singing career and later led him into a depression during the luck pillar. He subsequently became addicted to pills, sedatives, and drugs. On August 16, 1977, at age 42, he died of heart failure, which was related to his drug addiction.

Each August crowds flock to Graceland to honor him on the anniversary not of his birth but of his death.
