How to choose a partner in a business venture

Choosing the right business partner in a business venture is crucial. If you choose the wrong partner, your business venture could fail before it has a chance to take off. On the other hand, if you can find someone who has the experience and who shares your values and goals, there’s no telling what you two can achieve. Many people I know choose their business partner based on compatibility first over other criteria like experience, competency, creativity, business networks, passion, vision, capital, risk-taking, honest, and trustworthy. In my opinion, choosing such a partner should not be based purely on compatibility as the main objective of a business venture is on profitability. Choosing the right partner for a business venture is not an easy task.

We can use the knowledge of Bazi as a tool to guide us in choosing the right business partner. One of the criteria is to check whether your potential partner is your noble people.  Please read my blog on “How to find your noble people?”. After he has qualified the first criteria as your noble people, then check whether is he going through his favorable luck pillars. The simple logic is that a partner in good luck pillar is an indication that the business venture will be profitable as his good luck may help to bring benefit and profit to the joint venture. It is desirable to find a partner whose luck pillars reflect that he is in the best of luck as he is well-positioned to gain substantial wealth. With such a strong partner, you may be able to share his good fortune by teaming up with him.

For example, after you have read my blog on “How to use Fengshui to increase your opportunities in 2020” and you applied it diligently. One day an opportunity comes, your friend Peter aged 38 years approaches you to start an online business venture with him. Let us say you have some Bazi’s knowledge which you have learned after reading this blog and decided to use it.  Assuming after checking his Bazi Chart, you found out that he is your noble people, the next step is to assess whether he is in his good/favorable luck pillar or not before you make the decision. Peter’s Bazi Chart & Luck Pillar-

Bazi Chart of Peter

Luck Pillar of Peter

Peter is a Yang Metal day master born at the end of summer when the earth element is strong and the fire is waning. There are many prominent earth elements in his chart and Yang Earth in the hour pillar is strongly rooted in Yang Dog in his day pillar. As the earth element produces metal in the 5-element productive cycle, his Yang Metal day master is considered strong as there is plenty of earth in his chart.  His favorite elements are Water, Wood, and Fire. Water represents his output or intelligence and skills. Wood is his wealth element. Fire represents his status and position.

Based on his luck pillar, after the age of 37, Peter entered into his favorable luck pillars with strong water (output) and wood (wealth) influences which will dominate his two consecutive luck pillars of Yin Water Rabbit from Chinese age of 37 to 46 years and Yang Water Tiger from Chinese age of 47 to 56, as water and wood are his favorable elements. He is said to be in his good luck pillars.

If you were fortunate enough to have taken up a joint venture business with Peter, the business would certainly have been profitable and successful, assuming he and you also have the necessary business skills and competency. This is an example of how one can assess the impact of a potential partner in a business venture. As the main objective of a business venture is profitability, we cannot afford to team up with a partner who is in his bad/unfavorable luck pillars and not in the position to generate profit.
