How to tell whether a person is a spendthrift?

What do you call a person who is spendthrift?
One sense of thrift is “careful management especially of money,” and spendthrift was coined in the late 16th century to refer to someone who recklessly flouts such efforts.

For many others, though, the problem comes from not spending money wisely or from spending more money than they make. Do you belong to this group?

There is a classic Bazi verse that says “Wealth is weak and self is prosperous, sees Rob Wealth meets calamity”. What does the verse mean? To explain the verse, please see the Bazi Chart of John below.

Please print your Bazi Chart here.

John was born in the season of autumn when metal is the most prosperous. His day master of Yang Metal is considered strong as he was born in the season of autumn when metal supports metal. He has only one Direct Wealth (DW) in the hidden stem of the year pillar. There is a Rob Wealth (RW) in the hidden stem of the month pillar. John’s wealth element is weak as he has only one wealth element in his chart i.e. one DW star. Self is prosperous means that his day master is strong. Wealth sees Rob Wealth (RW) meets calamity i.e. when RW in the hidden stem of the month pillar sees DW in the hidden stem of the year pillar, RW will “rob” the DW star before it reaches the day master or John in his day pillar. The above verse can be translated as the person having this type of structure cannot save money or is a spendthrift. If we follow the old Bazi classic, John with this type of Bazi chart will not be rich in the olden days. No matter how much he earns he will spend all his earnings.

However, now in our modern world, the application and interpretation of the above old verse can be different. John with this type of chart can still be rich provided he knows how to use his Bazi chart. He has to choose a middle-man role for his career like property agent, insurance agent, unit trust consultant, and another such job that pays a commission or has a profit-sharing arrangement based on sales. His principal will have a bigger share or cut of the profit/commission than him whenever he makes his sales because John uses the brand name, credentials. training, support, assets, goodwill, facilities of his principal, he can be said to be indirectly “robbed of his wealth” by his principal. His wealth is still being “robbed” based on the above old verse. However, it is okay for John as this is a win-win deal. He still gets his commission although he is being “robbed” of his share of commission by his principal. John also has to learn money management and investment skill to prevent him from spending more money than he makes by investing his surplus money in appreciating assets like properties and other investments.
